Casa Calicanto fue un ejercicio de reinterpretación de una vivienda unifamiliar dentro de un fraccionamiento cerrado en México, partiendo de la oportunidad de cambio de las “restricciones” usuales solicitadas en este modelo de urbanizaciones, siendo regularmente al frente y posterior de los terrenos. En este caso se negoció con las autoridades municipales para prescindir de la restricción posterior llevando el proyecto hasta el límite del terreno, como resultado, se generó un amplio patio central, elemento articulador del proyecto. Las vistas de los espacios habitables del proyecto fueron inmersas hacia dicho patio, que a su vez es el área de mayor convivencia para los usuarios de la vivienda debido al excelente clima tropical de Nuevo Vallarta, Jalisco que incita a tomar el sol y disfrutar de la piscina todos los meses del año. La vivienda brinda un aspecto estereotómico en su exterior y tectónico en su interior, siendo el patio el punto de transición entre ambos, además del conector visual y auditivo con el resto de la urbanización por su ubicación adyacente a la calle. La permeabilidad de la celosía que los divide, invita a la permanencia en la vivienda por parte de los habitantes e interés por parte de los vecinos. La limpieza y sencillez del proyecto son a su vez su fuerza: hacer más con menos. Al ser una casa de descanso se utilizaron pocos materiales y colores para motivar el disfrute de los espacios arquitectónicos y, sobre todo, generar menores costos de mantenimiento, tanto que la ubicación de las áreas de servicio e instalaciones se encuentran dentro de un solo eje, haciendo eficiente su ejecución y conservación a futuro. Este proyecto reflexiona los conceptos básicos de una vivienda y sobre todo la importancia de reestructurar los lineamientos que establecen los gobiernos para la construcción en nuestro país, que en algunos casos no son los ideales para obtener los mejores resultados. |

Calicanto House was an exercise in reinterpreting a single-family home within a gated community in Mexico, based on the opportunity to change the usual "restrictions" requested in this model of urbanization, normally in front of and behind the private plots. In this case, negotiations were held with the municipal authorities to remove the rear restriction, bringing the construction to the boundary of the land. As a result, a large central courtyard was generated, which is the articulating element of the project. The views of the living spaces were immersed to the central courtyard, which is the area of greatest coexistence for the inhabitants due to the excellent tropical climate of Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit that encourages you to sunbathe and enjoy the pool every month of the year. The dwelling provides a stereotomic aspect on the outside and tectonic aspect on the inside, being the patio a transition between both of them. As well as a visual and auditive connector with the rest of the development due to its location adjacent to the street. The lattice that divides them inspires the permanence of the users and attracts views from the neighbours. The simplicity of the project seeks to be its greatest strength, keeping in mind to do more with less. Since it is a holiday home, few materials and colors were used to motivate the enjoyment of the architectural spaces, but also to generate lower maintenance costs. Another strategy is that the wet areas are located within a single axis, making it easy to execute. This project reviews the basic concepts of housing and especially the importance of rethinking the guidelines established for construction in Mexico, which in many cases are not ideal for obtaining the best results. |
